Flexibility Volley
Practice


Coaching Points:
Divide the entire group into pairs. Two players using one ball. Players
work in an area approximately 10 yards x 10 yards or 9 metres x 9 metres.
Working in pairs, one player is the receiver and the other
player (the server) standing.
The standing player
serves the ball and the receiving
player plays it back to the server. Focus on
returning the ball using the following surfaces;

Volley return using the right thigh

Volley return using the left thigh

Volley return using the inside of the right
foot
-
Volley return using the inside of the left
foot
-
Volley return using the outside of the right
foot
-
Volley return using the outside of the left
foot

Progression: Allow
the ball to "bounce once" before volleying the ball.
Perform 20 repetitions and exchange roles. Repeat 3
times.

2 players per grid 10 x 10 yards or 9 x 9 metres.
2 players using
1 ball.
Supply of Cones
Note
All of the given repetitions
and rest periods are only a guide line, and
can
be altered
to the age and
level of the participant. These the drills are usable
with young players, all the way up to elite
professional players.
The only variables are the intensity,
duration, and
rest periods.
