Standing Partner Drills
These are fantastic drills for improving each
player’s creativity, as well as technique.
Inside of the Foot

Coaching Points:
Divide the entire group into pairs. Two players using one ball. Players
work in an area approximately 10 yards x 10 yards or 9 metres x 9 metres.
Working in pairs, one player is the receiver and the other
player (the server) standing.
The standing player
serves the ball and the receiving
player plays it back to the server (using the
inside of the foot only). The ball is served in
at a variety of angles angles and height. This
challenges the receiving player to their range of
flexibility and technical skills. Perform 20
repetitions and exchange roles. Repeat 3 times.

Note
Using the above principles,
isolation training is only as limited as
your imagination.
To improve any
player’s range of movement,
dynamic flexibility, strength within that
extended range of movement,
this training is
ideal.
All of the given repetitions
and rest periods are only a guide line, and
can
be altered
to the age and
level of the participant. These the drills are usable
with young players, all the way up to elite
professional players.
The only variables are the intensity,
duration, and
rest periods.
