Team Warm-Up, Pre Training Preparation
This
type of warm up or preparation is of a very
different nature to the pre match ritual. The coach
or coaches must plan this “warm up” in direct
relevance to whatever that days session is going to
entail.

Here
are selections of preparation “warm ups.
Awareness and Disguised
Running Preparation
Objective: To prepare the players to perform physically, and
mentally to
their optimum levels.
Set Up: Set up a grid within a grid, dependant on the
physical condition of your players. For example
a
10 yard or 10-metre square within a 20 yard or 20-metre square.
Coaching Points: All of the players within the inner grid "A". In the
outer
grid "B" place hurdles, medicine balls, poles, slalom courses
or whatever equipment you have at hand.
Phase 1
The players are numbered 1-10 (or however many
players you have).
Number 1 passes to number 2,
2 to 3 and so on and the last player back to number 1.

Pass
the ball from hand to hand.

Pass
the ball from foot to foot on the floor one touch.

Pass
the ball one touch, left foot only.

Pass
the ball one touch, right foot only.
As soon as the player has passed the ball he
must then undertake a task before he can rejoin the
inner grid again.

Sprint and touch any pole on the outer pitch.
-
Sprint and jump over any hurdle on the outer
pitch.
-
Sprint to the outer pitch and with any ball,
juggle for
20 touches, etc.
Phase 2
This time the players are not numbered,
the player who calls for the ball, receives the pass
and then
he must undertake a task before he can
rejoin the inner pitch again.

Sprint and touch any 2 different poles on the
outer pitch.

Sprint and jump over any hurdle and touch a pole
on the outer pitch.

Sprint to the outer pitch and with any ball,
juggle for 20 touches, and then jump over 2
different hurdles etc.
Phase 3
The players are numbered 1-10 (or however many
players you have).
Number 1 passes to number
2,
2 to 3 and so on and the last player back to number 1, but this
time there are 2 balls going around the
pitch, the only rule is that the balls never touch.

the ball from hand to hand.

Pass
the ball from foot to foot on the floor one touch.

the ball one touch, right foot only.

this time there are 2 balls going around the pitch,
