Passing and Pattern Runs

Objective:
Quality passing and movement towards
and away from the ball.
Coaching Points:
1. Players A pass a straight ball to
the players B, who passes back to the original
player, after B has played the ball he then runs
backwards to position C, at the same time player C
sprints forwards to position B and receives the next
pass. Player A continues passing without waiting for
either of the players, he passes to a zone and not a
player.

the players B, who passes back to the original
player, after B has played the ball he turns then
sprints forwards to position C, at the same time
player C sprints forwards to position B and receives
the next pass. Player A continues passing without
waiting for either of the players, he passes to a

Players A pass a straight ball to
the players B, who passes back to the original
player, after B has played the ball he then runs
sideward to the next pole on the left, then sprints
backwards to position C, then sprints forwards to
position B at the same time player C sprints
forwards to position B and receives the next pass.
Player A continues passing without waiting for
either of the players, he passes to a zone and not a
player.

This drill can be done in various
ways.
a. Vary the distances between the
poles to give an all around passing and sprinting
effect.
b. Work on 1 minute in each position
and then change.
c. Use either one touch passing or
if the players conditioning is not up to it the
player in position A can decide to have more touches
(very good for teaching players decision making).
