ICA Drills for Skills
This is a great practice to develop finishing and defending
skills using
a large group of players.
ICA Coaching Points:
Use half field, three goals and three
teams. White team defends, yellow, blue attack. Practice starts
with a
yellow and blue player at the center cones. Next player in line
passes to
them. When they receive the ball they must quickly attack one of
the three goals. White team sends out one defender to defender
the goal.
When a team scores the opposing team now defends and the white
team comes onto the field as attackers.
Team to win three straight games
are champions. Advance to 2 v 2. |

The player starts by lying prone near the first bottom-corner
cone. He gets up and sprints to the closest top-corner cone,
goes around it, weaves back around the middle cones, sprints to
the other top-corner cone, turns around the corner, and sprints
to the finish.
This tests the ability to change direction and control the
center of gravity. It also indicates body awareness, body
control, and footwork. A deficiency here indicates a lack of
functional core strength, leg strength, and bilateral
development. A score under 15 seconds is considered good. |

I'm Just Saying......

Now I can't make you
do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his
eyes. Now I think you're gonna see a guy who will go that inch
with you. You're gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for
this team, because he knows when it comes down to it, you're
gonna do the same for him.
That's a team,
gentlemen. And either we heal, now, as a team, or we will die,
as individuals. That's football, guys. That's all it is. Now,
what are you going to do? Al Pacino, from the movie
Any Given Sunday.
